What is the Weekly Sale Ad?
Publix’s WSA is an ad that includes most of the store’s items that are on sale or on promotions each week. This includes BOGO (buy one, get one) items. The ad typically starts on a Thursday and runs through Wednesday. (this may vary by a day in some areas). The WSA can be found in the front of the store on a stand, but also comes in your mail (usually bundled together with your “junk” mail). There usually are no coupons in this flyer. The store coupons are in a yellow flyer.

The Yellow Advantage Buy Flyer at Publix is a monthly publication. It comes in the Sunday paper but can also be found in the front of the store on the same stand that the WSA can be found. The yellow flyer
What Are Penny Items?
There is one mystery Penny Item coupon in Publix’s ad each week. This means, with your coupon you will that particular item for a penny. Unfortunately, Florida residents don’t get this offer.
Other Coupons to Look Out For:
Peelies: these are coupons stuck on to actual items for purchase that usually qualify for instant savings
Tear Pad: these hang from the store shelves (near the product for which they are offering savings)
Blinkie: these coupons are dispensed in a red box that “blinks” (near the product for which they are offering savings)
How else can I save money at Publix?
Publix offers many programs that send extra store coupons and often FREE product coupons. Some of these programs are:
Publix Baby Club – sign up if you are expecting or have a baby
Publix Preschool Pals – this is designed for children ages 2 -5 yrs. This program send you monthly emails discussing your child at different stages. A quarterly newsletter is mailed to you with fun activities to do with your child as well as healthy eating habits, etc. And Publix will also send your child free gifts from time to time. Kids love these.
Publix FamilyStyle Magazine – a quarterly magazine. A publication for each season of the year. There are great recipe ideas as well as valuable coupons and tips for making life a little bit easier.
Publix Pet Club – this program sends you helpful tips in caring for your pet. It also send you valuable coupons. And right now, if you sign-up before March 31, 2011, you will be automatically entered to win FREE food for you and you pet.

Upromise – make sure to sign up for this program if you have a child or two or three. This program contributes money to your child’s college fund just by doing your regular shopping. Certain items at Publix qualify for the Upromise contribution, so when you are checking out, you will have the cashier scan your Upromise card and a certain amount of money (based on what you purchased and what items qualified) will be put into your child’s account.
